Other Alternative Ways To Travel To The US Apart from The Green Card

The United States is one of the best countries to live in. It has a lot of opportunities to offer, this is the reason why a lot of foreigners want to live in this rich country. The government of the US in the last couple of years has made it difficult for foreigners to enter the country due to a lot of frequent immigrants foreigners who want live and settle in the US. This is the reason why they introduced the greencard lottery selection which is meant to accept a few people every year to live in the US. If you have not been lucky enough to be selected for the greencard lottery the previous years, it's not the end of the road for you. There are different ways  in which you can still secure your way to the US apart from greencard application. It's not an easy process but with a little effort and the right documents you can be able to work your way to the USA.

I have shortlisted some few ways in which you can work to get to the US if you haven't been lucky enough to be selected in the previous greencard lottery selection.

Job Offer

US has a lot of job offers you can choose from skilled jobs to unskilled jobs. Different companies are hiring everyday and therefore creating opportunities to the unemployed. There are some job offers from companies that allow foreigners to apply and this is a great opportunity for you to make your way to the US. Getting these jobs is not a walk in the park. There are many websites that are postimg job offers but not all of them accept foreign applicants. When you want to find the right job for you with 80% meeting the requirements do a lot of research on job posting in different websites and with time you'll be able to land that particular job that hires both local and foreigners. Through this job you'll be able to have the opportunity to work and live in the US. Once you land a job your employer can expedite the process of your work permit and make it a lot easier to go to the US. These employers are required to have an LMIA. It is a document from the government that allows them to employ foreign workers to their company. You can start with the available job that you qualify and build your way up once you have stayed for quite sometime in the US.

Work Permit

A work permit allows you to work in the US. Getting a work permit is not an easy task but once you have it, it'll open up a lot of opportunities here in the US. Apply for a work permit before you start to think about traveling abroad, as this will help you get job opening that allows applicants who have already obtained their work permit.

Tourist Visa

Getting a tourist visa will give you access to the US. You'll have the opportunity to visit the country and explore more options during your stay there. You can even opt to apply for a work permit while still on your visit if you've been wanting to work there I've seen a lot of people who apply for a work permit while on tourist visa. This can help expedite the process.

Student visa

There is a wide range of Universities that accepts international students. If you want to pursue your education career further and you've been wondering how to go about it, you're in the right place. We'll discuss more on best colleges and universities for foreign students including those that offer scholarships.

If you've been thinking of the procedure to apply for universities or colleges that offer scholarship to foreign students in my next post we'll walk through a few those scholarship and how to acquire them.

Through marriage

This is the simplest way to easily get to the US. Marrying a US citizen automatically gives you a pass to enter the US. This is through family ties and you cannot be denied the chance to be with your family. Many people have made it to the US through this methods and are living there. In order to be recognised as a married couple you will have to present a valid marriage certificate as proof. However you should have in mind that the US government does not recognize polygamy hence if you have two wives, one will have to denounce the title. We have seen cases where a spouse hooks up with the foreigner and gets married in order to be granted access to live in the US and later on discovers that the initial family cannot join him there because their marriage is not recognised and it takes a lot of process and paper work in order to bring them there. In cases where the officials notice fraud you'll be deported back to your country with immidiate effect. So always follow the right channel and everything will work out eventually.

These are few alternatives that you can follow and make your way to the US. Although these channels are not the easiest, you'll need a lot of finance to process your documents, and a lot of appointments with the immigration and for your medical tests. But with the right documents in place and enough money to fund the process this method will seem less complicated and with time you'll get to board a plane and start a new life abroad.

If you're already in the middle of processing your documents you need to do a lot of research on the internet to have a clue of what to expect when you finally reach the US. At this time make internet your best friend. Join groups of foreigners who went there either through green card or the other methods, inquire from them a few details about the lifestyles and job opportunities and the way their journey had been so far.

Look at different states and research on where you'd like to live when you've finally landed the job of your choice. There are some states that are quite friendly and affordable to live in while others are quite expensive. In my next post we'll talk about which states are easier to navigate through and which ones are expensive. During the application of your visa your bank statement plays a very important role in determining whether you'll be granted a visa or not. At the embassy you'll be required to produce a bank statements that is 3 to 6 months old and shows a minimum amount of  thousand dollars depending on what type of visa you're applying for, if you're a student who's applying for a school in the US chances are high that you may be denied a visa if you can't proof that you're going to support yourself while studying abroad. This is because the US government does not want you to get stranded upon reaching the US.

When applying for a visa attach all the required documents together and make sure to provide a complete and accurate information. Any information that doesn't add up will result to your denial of the visa. The immigration officers always require a bank statement that reads $1000 or more. Anything less than this gives you a very slim chance of qualifying for a visa.

Another mistake most applicants do is produce documents that states that you can still work remotely for your company while abroad. This is mostly an automatic denial as the US government will not allow you to work without a work permit while in the US soil. This mistake can be avoided by all means. Instead as a student who's going to work abroad, it is better to even state that you have a business running here by a family member that'll be supporting your stay while you're abroad.

Conclusion

Have your documents ready, do a lot of research on different states rules and lifestyle. Be positive and everything will work out well for you.
